The Faithfulness Of God
Because God is the only true God HE is worthy of our worship. John chapter 4 tells us that He (God the Father) is actively seeking those who will worship HIM in spirit and in truth. Because God is faithful, HE is worthy of our worship. Worship will encourage the believer to maintain a proper view of God. Worship is the truth of God coming alive in the soul of man and the result of worship is a soul surrendered to the will of God.
Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him….
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
God’s mercy is made possible by the sacrificial death of HIS son the Lord Jesus Christ. The mercies of God have been demonstrated to the child of God over and over again. Do you have remembrances of God’s mercy demonstrated to you before you were saved?

Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
The faithfulness of God has extended and will continue to extend HIS mercies to those who love HIM.
1Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
We can have fellowship with God because of HIS faithfulness to forgive. 1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Confess means to come into agreement with God. “God what I have done is wrong. Your word tells me that it is wrong. Therefore, I confess. I repent of my sin and receive God’s cleansing for my sin.” God is free to faithfully forgive because the justice of God was satisfied at Calvary’s tree.
When confession is made and cleansing is received, worship is born in the soul of man. Forgiveness is realized. Peace is provided. The heart of the wayward soul is brought to a place of praise and worship as the mercy of God is received.
When you confess sin, do you worship God?

Unfaithfulness has been an unpleasant experience in all of our lives. Unfaithfulness by important people in our lives is a strong hindrance in accepting the faithfulness of God.
Proverbs 25:19 Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.
What are some examples of an unfaithful individual?

But God is faithful:
Psalm 89:8 O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?
Psalm 36:5 Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
God is faithful, but we don’t always see things the way God sees things. Are there not times when I can no longer trace the faithful out-workings of HIS Love? There was a time in Job’s life when he was unable to see the faithfulness of God.
Have you had an experience in your life where it was difficult or impossible to see the faithfulness of God?

2Timothy 2:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
There will come times in the life of the believer when he is distracted by the noises of the world and tormented by Satan’s fiery darts. It is as if a dark cloud now hides us from HIM.
When our carnal reason is unable to understand the providence of God and HIS gracious promises, consider this text from the book of Isaiah.
Isaiah 50:10-11 10 Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God. 11 Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.
What are we to do when the darkness comes?

Isaiah 45:3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
Romans 8:28-29 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son,….
What is the darkness that we face? And, what is the treasure God is providing for us?
