MISSIONS TRIP FUNDRAISER

OHSM Mission's Trip to Romania

Information and Rules

Date: Friday, February 27 (Beginners -open division), Saturday, February 28 (Intermediate & Advanced- Woman's, Mixed, Mens)

Location: Oak Hill Baptist Church, 2135 Oak Hill Rd, Somerset, KY 42503-5784 (Beginners and Intermediate)
 Cumberland Paddle Barn, 330 Enterprise Drive, Somerset KY 42501 (Advanced)

Proceeds: All proceeds will go to the youth Mission's Trip to Romania taking place October 2026. Our high school students and chaperones will be working with the organization Manna Worldwide. While there, they will be spending their time assisting with Manna feeding centers, connecting with children at Manna orphanages, and other acts of evangelism and service.

Cost: This tournament is a free-will donation. Recommended donation is $30 or more per person per event.

Play conditions: Oak Hill Church-4 courts, Gym floor, taped lines, portable nets, Penn 26 indoor balls - lava color Cumberland Paddle Barn - 3 courts, cushioned indoor tennis court surface, Joela ball- yellow

Divisions: Beginner- BOTH PLAYERSm ust be new to pickleball, may not know all the rules, whiffing the ball may happen, there to laugh, have fun and support the mission's trip. Play will be supervised to help with rules and score. (Approx DUPR 2.5 or below)
Intermediate - Semi-serious. Average pickleball player who knows how to play, but due to mobility or lack of skill isn't comfortable playing with local advanced players. Includes naturally athletic beginners. (Approx DUPR 3.25-3.75)
Advanced- A player who enjoys competitive play with other competitive players (Approx DUPR 3. 75+)

Divisions may need to be combined or altered based on sign-up.
If we recognize your play style and feel you signed up at the wrong level, you may be asked to switch.
Play Format: We will start in round-robin pool play. Games will tentatively be up to 11, win by 1.
You are guaranteed to play at least 4 games.
Winners will be determined by win record first, head-to-head second and points third.
Top teams in each pool will move to bracket, single elimination play. Bracket play will be up to 11, win by 2.

Time: Beginners (men, women, mixed all combined). Friday, February 27 at 6:00 pm.
On February 28 -Woman's 9:00 AM, Mixed 11:00AM, Men's 4:00PM EST.
These times are approximate.
Once registration has closed and we have an exact number of teams participating you will be notified of the start time via email.
We suggest arriving at least half an hour early to sign in, pay and warm-up.

Please do not call to register. Only one partner in the team needs to register.

Be sure to include: Event & Division Your Name, cell phone number and email Your Partner's name, their cell phone number and their email

Need a partner: Please send a text to John Kallevig 423-215-5683. Include your name and event you would like to participate in.
We'll try to match you with someone else also looking for a partner, but there are no guarantees.

Prizes: Medals, your picture on social media and bragging rights!
There will also be over $4000 worth of prizes donated by various paddle brands

How to pay: Please pay at the tournament when you sign-in. Payment can be made by cash or check.
Please make any checks out to Oak Hill Baptist Church with Missions Pickleball in the memo.
Donations can also be made on line for your convenience www.oakhillbaptist.com, just click the  link and include missions- Pickleball in the description.
If you donated online, just let them know when you sign-in.

 Food: There will be some concessions available on Saturday. Those playing or watching at the Paddle Barn can place to-go orders from the concessions.

Spectators: There will be some seating set up along the walls for people to watch. There is no charge for those not playing. Of course, if you still want to donate to the mission's trip that is always appreciated! There will also be a silent auction.
